Every Christmas morning in my childhood, my seven siblings and I would wait at the top of the stairs. We could
barely contain our excitement as my mum pondered which one of us would get to sprint downstairs that year
to check if presents had arrived under the tree. “Santa’s been!” we would shout back up the stairs!
And as if it were the buzzer at the start of a 100-meter run, we’d all go thundering down to see what treats
waited for us at the bottom.
My goal as your photographer is to deliver an experience that makes you feel like yelling “Santa’s been!” the moment your gallery arrives in your inbox! A gallery that feels like a gift from your past
selves to your future selves and to all the generations of your family still to come.
Something you might be surprised to know about me that I used to run Ultra Marathons. I met my husband on my longest one—160 miles in the White Desert in Egypt! I’m a
huge fitness fanatic and worked as an Insanity coach teaching full-body, high-intensity workout classes for many
years. While I love getting my heart racing, however, I also love slowing down to play with my daughter, visit a
local coffee shop with friends, or have a movie night, chocolate and popcorn included.
I wouldn’t be here without my tireless support staff! My husband bought me my first camera and supported me
when I decided to leave my stable job to step into my role as a full-time photographer. Then, of course, there’s
Mya, our energetic little girl, who definitely keeps me on my toes! And finally, where would I be without our
miniature schnauzers, Hercules and Perseus. They never fail to put a smile on my face (or get in tons of
trouble) while I’m editing a gallery!
I didn’t always want to be a photographer, I didn't even realise it was an option (got to thank careers day at school for that one). My journey started on a trip to
The Lake District with my husband. He noticed that I enjoyed taking photos with my phone so much that he
bought me my first camera as a Christmas gift! I pored through photography magazines and became instantly
obsessed with improving. Since then, I’ve taken classes all over the world and rarely leave home
without my camera!
I believe that things happening in the moment are more beautiful than anything you could stage. I don’t work from shot lists—I photograph the natural smiles, laughs, and moments of connection in front of me. My
photography philosophy is to preserve genuine moments, blending into the background while stepping in for
the little things—like opening a curtain to get better lighting or pulling you outside for that mid-reception
sunset photo you’ve been dreaming of.
