Isla, these family photos will always hold a special place in your mummy’s heart, and hopefully one day, yours too. They were taken before the whole country went back into lockdown, and they were the last photos taken before you became a family of 4 and you became the best big sister ever.
I remember arriving at your house, you were a little bit shy to begin with, but you quickly came around, showing me all of your toys and offering me snacks.
I got to witness the heartwarming relationship you share with your mummy, I saw how your mummy is your number one cheerleader, encouraging you as you, rather insistently, made us both a cup of tea. She patiently sat whilst you, ecstatic with yourself, put on your make-up ‘just like mummy’ and then she let you put hers on too.
I got to see the most beautiful and loving relationship between a mother and her little girl, the sort of relationship that every little girl wants to have with her mummy and I bore witness to the cheekiest smile I have ever seen.
You are a little explorer, strong in mind and with the fastest little legs. You love being outdoors, so much so that you didn’t want to come back when it was time to go home and ran off to hide in the leaves before strutting back like you were on the catwalk.
I can’t wait to document your family as it grows and as you become the best big sister to your little brother Ezra. Life is about to get a whole lot more exciting.
